Naloxone Standing Order

Caro, MI (June 15, 2017) - A standing order for Naloxone has been approved by Governor Rick Snyder on May 25, 2017 that would help residents of Michigan who are at risk of an opioid-related overdose, or any individual who would assist a person that is at risk of opioid overdose.

To dispense Naloxone pharmacists must be registered with the Michigan Department of Human Health Services (MDHHS). A signed copy of the standing order is required for a pharmacist to dispense Naloxone, and quarterly reporting is also mandatory.
